Thrive Nannie’s Placement Process

Hiring a nanny or special needs caregiver is a big decision, and for many families, the process itself can feel overwhelming. Families often tell us they’re unsure what happens after they reach out, how involved they’ll need to be, or how long the process takes.

At Thrive Nannies, we aim to make the placement process clear, collaborative, and supportive from start to finish. Here’s what families can expect when working with us.

Step 1: An Initial Consultation

We begin with a consultation to learn about your family, your child or loved one, and the kind of support you’re looking for. This conversation helps us understand your goals, schedule, priorities, and any special considerations.

This is not a sales call. It’s a chance to:

  • Clarify the type of caregiver that may be the best fit

  • Talk through scheduling realities and options

  • Ask questions and get honest feedback

Many families tell us this conversation alone helps bring clarity to what they actually need.

Step 2: Thoughtful Matching & Vetting

Once we understand your needs, we begin identifying caregivers who align with your role, schedule, and household.

All Thrive candidates are carefully vetted before being presented to families. This includes:

  • Experience verification

  • Interviews

  • Reference checks

  • Background screening

  • CPR and First Aid requirements

We prioritize quality over quantity. Rather than sending dozens of resumes, we focus on sharing candidates who are genuinely aligned with your family.

Step 3: Interviews & Paid Trials

Families are invited to interview selected candidates and ask questions that matter to them. When there’s mutual interest, we strongly encourage a paid trial period.

Trials give everyone the opportunity to:

  • See how care looks in real life

  • Confirm communication and expectations

  • Assess fit before making a long-term commitment

We guide families through this step and are available to help debrief and adjust as needed.

Step 4: Contract & Employment Guidance

Once a family is ready to move forward, we provide guidance around employment setup, including:

  • Household employee considerations

  • Guaranteed hours

  • Pay structure and expectations

  • Contract basics

Families are not expected to already know how this works. We help explain options and common best practices so families can move forward confidently.

Step 5: Ongoing Support After Placement

Our support doesn’t end once a caregiver starts.

We remain available to:

  • Answer questions

  • Help navigate changes in schedule or needs

  • Offer guidance if challenges arise

  • Assist with backup care when possible

We view placement as the beginning of a relationship, not the end of one.

The Bottom Line

Working with Thrive Nannies means having a partner throughout the hiring process — someone who helps you think through decisions, set clear expectations, and build a sustainable care arrangement.

If you’re considering hiring a nanny or special needs caregiver and want thoughtful guidance along the way, we’re always happy to talk through next steps.
